Between the electric and hybrid vehicles, there are plenty of opportunities for the average consumer to find incredible fuel efficiency available at a modest price. Unfortunately, not all automakers have instilled better fuel economy into all of their vehicles. Consumers can save themselves money in the near term, and for the long term by reviewing some of the 2013 vehicles with the best and worst fuel efficiency on the market.

This hatchback features front wheel drive and provides four cubic feet of storage in the back for luggage. The combined fuel economy for this EV hatchback is around 121 miles per gallon.

This electric vehicle is available in a coupe and convertible model as well. These small cars come with only two seats and use rear-wheel drive. The combined EPA for this EV coupe is around 107 miles per gallon.

This two-seater hatchback is powered by a 1.5 liter four cylinder engine and front-wheel drive.
